Imphal: Manipur’s Janata Dal (United) has asked that the Speaker of the Manipur Legislative Assembly change the MLA’s sitting arrangement in the Manipur Legislative Assembly from the ruling to the opposition bench.
Ksh Biren, President JDU Manipur, stated in a letter to the Speaker on Monday that the party had withdrawn its support for the BJP-led government in Manipur and that the Manipur Governor had been informed of the Janata Dal (United) withdrawal of support from the BJP-led State Government on September 12, 2022.
On the same day, the Chief Minister was also informed of the Janata Dal (United)’s withdrawal of support from the government, he said.
JDU won six seats in the last state assembly elections, but on September 2, five MLAs joined the BJP. Mohammed Nasir is the lone JDU MLA now.
