ISSF WC: India adds four medals on Day 4

Pistol teams have finished the qualifications on second 581-22x and 571-20x to advance to the gold final against Italy and Korea respectively.

Changwon (South Korea): Indian shooting team on Thursday bagged four medals comprising the gold and three bronze medals at the ISSF Shooting World.

The men’s team of Arjun Babuta, Shahu Tushar Mane, and Paarth Makhija clinched the gold in the Air Rifle team event after beating the host Korea 17-15 in the Gold medal final.

Air Rifle women’s team of Ramita, Tokyo Olympian Elavenil Valarivan, and Mehuli Ghosh settled for the silver after losing the gold medal match 10-16 to Korea.

Both the men’s and women’s rifle teams topped the eight-team qualifications with 629.7 and 631.5 points respectively followed by Korea in second to qualify for the gold medal match.

The duo of Shiva Narwal Naveen and Sagar Dangi also bagged silver in the Air Pistol men’s team event as they lost the gold match 15-17 to Italy.

The Air Pistol team of Rhythm Sangwan, Palak, and Yuvika Tomar, however, lost the gold final 12-16 against Korea to finish with the silver medal.

Pistol teams have finished the qualifications on second 581-22x and 571-20x to advance to the gold final against Italy and Korea respectively.

In total, India won eight medals (3 gold, 4 silver, and a bronze) and is currently placed on top of the medal tally, followed by Korea with three golds and a silver in second place. Serbia has won a total of three gold medals and is in the third position.

A total of 30 gold medals are on offer and about 450 athletes from 43 countries are competing across 30 events at the final world cup of the season.
