Kabul: Iran’s special representative to Afghanistan Hasan Kazemi-Qomi will reach Kabul on Monday to hold bilateral talks on issues including the formation of an inclusive government and immigrants.
Citing a statement by Iran’s embassy in Kabul, The Khaama Press reported that Qomi will be meeting Taliban officials and will discuss regional issues, immigrants, humanitarian aid, the formation of an inclusive government, and economic issues.
Earlier, Tehran had said the recognition of the Taliban solely depends on meeting international demands.
Since the coming of the Taliban government, the international community has set benchmarks for the group for the government to be recognised.
The benchmarks include inclusive government, protection of women and human rights and not allowing terrorist organisations to use the Afghan soil for their use.
