Imphal: In connection with the observance of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the 6th India Reserve Battalion (IRB), Pangei, in collaboration with the District Level Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan Committee, Imphal East, organized an Awareness Programme against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking at Hundred Flowers Higher Secondary School, Khomidok, under the theme “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan – Vikshit Bharat Ki Pehchaan.”
The programme was attended by Dr. S. Ibomcha Singh, IPS, Commandant, 6th IRB, Ksh. Jibanmala Devi, Project Director, Kripa Foundation, W. Thamabati Devi, District Social Welfare Officer, Imphal East, Dr. Ph. Premjit Singh, Medical Officer, 6th IRB, Md. Sabir, Principal, Hundred Flowers Higher Secondary School, along with officers and personnel of the 6th IRB, teachers, and students of the school.
During the programme, the resource persons highlighted the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of collective efforts in preventing illicit trafficking and promoting a drug-free society. They emphasized the need for creating awareness among youth and encouraging healthy lifestyles to build a stronger and more progressive nation.
As part of the observance, all participants took a pledge reaffirming their commitment to remain free from drugs and to support the mission of a drug-free India.
The programme concluded with a mass rally from the school premises up to Khurai Heikru Makhong, accompanied by a Poster Campaign carrying messages against drug abuse and illicit trafficking. The rally aimed to spread awareness among the public and reinforce the objectives of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, officers and personnel of 6th IRB, reflecting a shared commitment towards creating a drug-free and healthier society.
