Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar AIMIM Imtiaz Jaleel has announced that he will start indefinite chain agitation from March 4 onwards in front of district collector office here protest against decision of changing name of Aurangabad and Osmanabad as Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Dharashiv.
Mr Jaleel has given information about this through Facebook Live.
He stated that,the decision to change the name of Aurangabad district to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Osmanabad district to Dharshiv has been approved by the central and state governments.
However, AIMIM opposed the decision to change the name. The fast will start from 1100 onwards on Saturday.
Talking about this, Jaleel said that the government has changed the name of our district. But many citizens feel that the name of the city should be Aurangabad. This is part of dirty politics. To give credit to our own government for this decision, BJP and Shinde government have taken this decision.
Therefore, to oppose this decision, he has informed that we will go on an indefinite hunger strike in front of the collector’s office from Saturday.
This fast will not be done under any political party. Jaleel has said that this fast will be done with the cooperation of citizens who prefer the name Aurangabad.
It is not possible to say how long the fast will last.
We appeal to the police and the administration that we are going to have a democratic and peaceful protest.
Earlier also we had formed Aurangabad Name Change Anti Sangharsh Committee. This movement will be held under the same action committee. So parties and organizations who want to join us should inform us in writing,he added.
