Imphal: Shangshak Battalion of Assam Rifles recovered illegal cash amounting to Rs 24 lakhs at Kasom Khullen village, Kamjong district of Manipur on Friday.
An Assam Rifles official said during checking at Mobile Vehicle Check Post, troops of Assam Rifles recovered the cash from a vehicle.
The vehicle with three passengers was moving from Thoubal to Namlee Market. On enquiring, the individuals failed to produce any legitimate source of the cash.
The seized cash along with the apprehended individuals was handed over to Kasom Khullen Police Station for further investigation.
