Health Mela held at Bishnupur district hospital

The Block Health Mela is being held under ‘100 Days Action Plan’ as a part of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ observation.  Participated by various departments the mela showcased around 30 stalls.

Bishnupur:  The second Block Health Mela for Bishnupur district was held Wednesday at Bishnupur District Hospital organized by District Health Society, Bishnupur.

The Block Health Mela is being held under ‘100 Days Action Plan’ as a part of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ observation.  Participated by various departments the mela showcased around 30 stalls.

Medicines and sanitary pads were distributed free of cost at the Block Health Mela. Creation of Health ID cards for CMHA & NCD; CMHT & AB-PMJAY were one of the main highlights of the mela.

The Block Health Mela also provided free vaccination facilities along with cataract screening, hearing impairment, Gynae OPD with USG, Dermatology, Lab. Diagnostic among others in the Clinical Stalls.

IEC and Awareness Generating Stalls of Poshan Abhiyan (ICDS & WCD); District Aids Control Programme; District Leprosy Eradication Programme; National TB Elimination Programme; Eat Right Movement India (Food Safety); AYUSH; School Health Programme (Education); and Family Planning Services among others were also set up in the mela.

Chairperson, Bishnupur Municipal Council, L. Maniyaima Singh; CMO Bishnupur, Dr. L. Raichandra Singh, and AC to DC, Bishnupur, Ejaj Hassan, were the praesidium members of the inaugural function of the Block Health Mela. 

Officials concerned and staffs of the medical department also attended the inaugural function. 

The third and final Block Health Mela for the district will be held at CHC Moirang on April 22 for Moirang Block.The Block Health Mela was organized with an aim to create awareness among the people about a healthy lifestyle and preventive measures that need to be taken to safeguard oneself from communicable and non-communicable diseases.
