Governor Ravi gave a warm send-off

Ravi served as Nagaland Governor for a little over two years.

Kohima: Outgoing Nagaland Governor R. N. Ravi, who has been posted as the Governor of Tamil Nadu, departed Nagaland after receiving a ceremonial Guard of Honour at the Dimapur Airport.

According to official sources Ravi finally bade adieu to Nagaland on Wednesday, he left for New Delhi, from where he will head to Tamil Nadu today. He would be sworn in as the Governor of Tamil Nadu on September 17. Ravi served as Nagaland Governor for a little over two years. He assumed the charge as the Governor of Nagaland on August 1, 2019, and was appointed as the new Governor of Tamil Nadu on September 9 this year.

At the airport, Ravi was accorded a warm send-off by Nagaland Health & Family Welfare Minister S Pangyu Phom, Housing and Mechanical Minister Tongpang Ozukum, Excise & Minority Affairs Adviser Zhaleo Rio and Power Department Adviser Tovihoto Ayemi and Naga People Front legislators Dr Chotisuh Sazo and Azheto Zhimomi, Commissioner Nagaland Rovilatuo Mor, ADGP (Admn) Renchamo P Kikon, Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur Rajesh Soundararajan, Commissioner of Police Dimapur Rothihu Tetseo and a host of Government officials, Gaon Burhas and Village Council Members were present to see off Ravi.

Meanwhile, the President of India has asked Prof Jagdish Mukhi, Governor of Assam to discharge the functions of the Governor of Nagaland in addition to his own duties, until regular arrangements are made.
