Government taking adequate health care of poor: Mangal

The Health Minister said that a total of 7,342 patients had been given assistance between April and September this year.

Patna: Bihar Health Minister Mangal Pandey on Friday said the poor suffering from serious ailments is being treated from the fund earmarked under ‘ Mukhya Mantri Chikitsa Sahayata Kosh ‘.

Pandey said that from the fund earmarked under Mukhyamantri Chikitsa Sahayata Kosh, financial assistance was provided to the poor for the treatment of 14 serious ailments. Those who had to go outside the state for treatment were also being given assistance ranging from Rs 20 thousand to Rs 5 lakhs, he added.

The Health Minister said that a total of 7,342 patients had been given assistance between April and September this year. Similarly, the number of beneficiaries during the financial year 2020-21 was 11,180 due to sustained efforts of the government to provide facilities to as many people as possible, he added.

Pandey said that apart from the listed 14 ailments, financial assistance was also given for other diseases. For other diseases, the assistance of Rs one lakh was being given, he added. Provision had been made to provide assistance to those having an annual income of Rs 2.5 lakhs, he further added.
