Kohima: Army personnel commemorated Global Parents Day with Senior Citizens at Senior Citizen Home, Nongpok Kakching village in Imphal East District of Manipur on Saturday.
Army personnel interacted with parents and elders living in the Old Age Home. Medical experts from the Indian Army explained the basic techniques to measure their Blood Pressure and Sugar Levels without any external help to the senior citizens.
A demonstration on methods to keep Blood Pressure and Diabetes under check through Yoga, Pranayam and Meditation was also conducted by experts. A preliminary health checkup was also done by the Army Doctor, wherein essential medicines and medical equipment were provided to the Old Age Home.
The event culminated with the elders highlighting the contribution of the Indian Army towards maintaining peace and normalcy in Manipur.
