Poll observers review counting preparedness in Bishnupur

The observers inspected the training of the counting officials and advised them to strictly follow the guidelines of the Election Commission of India.

Bishnupur: Counting observers for 1-Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency Shri Ghulam Rasool Mir and Shri Gulzar Ahmad Dar arrived in the district on Saturday to review the overall counting preparedness. 

The observers inspected the training of the counting officials and advised them to strictly follow the guidelines of the Election Commission of India. 

Later, the observers inspected the counting hall at Mini Secretariat Complex, Bishnupur. Additional District Election Officer, Hanjabam Bobby Sharma and officials concerned accompanied the observers during the inspection. 

Meanwhile, the second round of training for counting supervisors, counting assistants and micro observers of Bishnupur district in connection with the counting of votes in EVMs/VVPATs for General Elections to the 18th Lok Sabha, 2024 concluded on Saturday. 

The two-day training program attended by 155 officials was conducted in three different sessions. It was held at Panchayat Resource Centre, PRC Hall Mini Secretariat Complex, Bishnupur. 

Bhungba Maibam Khuman, MCS, designated ARO of 2-OPMC and Rishikanta Loitongbam, MCS, ARO of 24-Bishenpur AC conducted the training as resource persons cum master trainers. During the training, Additional District Election Officer also visited the venue and advised the counting officials to perform their duty responsibly.
