New Delhi: Petrol and diesel prices were increased once again on Sunday. According to price notification of Indian Oil Corporation, petrol in Delhi now costs Rs 99.11 per litre as against Rs 98.61 previously while diesel Rs 90.42 per litre as against Rs 89.87 previously.
In Kolkata, petrol costs Rs 108.53 per litre while diesel is at Rs 93.57. In Mumbai, a litre of petrol is available at Rs 113.88 while diesel is at Rs 98.13 per litre. In Chennai, petrol costs Rs 104.90 per litre while diesel is at Rs 95.00 per litre.
This is the fifth hike in the past six days. In all, petrol prices have gone up by Rs 3.70 per litre while diesel by Rs 3.75 in the last six days. The oil companies have been increasing the petrol and diesel prices since March 22 (except on March 24).
The fuel prices were on freeze since November 4, 2021 but the record 137 days hiatus ended on March 22 with an 80 paise per litre increase in rates of petrol and diesel.
