Guwahati: A fresh incident of firing has been reported in Assam’s Cachar district along the Manipur border where one civilian person has suffered injuries.
According to reports firing took place Namdeilong punji near Chamtilla bordering Manipur-Assam, under Jirighat police station. One villagers was injured in the firing and has been rushed to Silchar Medical College.
It is being suspected that rebels active in the area carried out the firing. SP Cachar Ramndeep Kaur has reached the spot.
It may be mentioned here that few months back there was border tension between Assam and Mizoram which resulted in ugly spat between the two states,
