Four succumb to Covid Tuesday, cumulative death toll in Manipur at 2031

All four of them had co-morbidities; two of them had taken the 2nd dose of Covid vaccine while the other one had not been vaccinated at all.

Imphal: Four more persons succumbed to the Coronavirus while 461persons (446 general population 15 CAPF) were infected by in the last 24 hours leading up to 2 pm of Tuesday. During the same period, 308 persons recovered and were discharged, as per an official release from the Health Department.

Two of the four persons who expired are from Imphal West while the other two are from Imphal East. All four of them had co-morbidities; two of them had taken the 2nd dose of Covid vaccine while the other one had not been vaccinated at all. The cumulative death toll in the state now stands at 2031.

Of the 446 persons from the general population who tested positive, 204 are from Imphal West, 116 from Imphal East, 23 from Bishnupur, 26 from Churachandpur, 12 from Kakching, nine from Kangpokpi, six from Senapati, five from Tamenglong, four from Jiribam, three each from Tengnouupal and Noney, two each from Ukhrul and Kamjong. Altogether, 2,687 persons were tested amounting to a positivity rate of 17.2 %.

Meanwhile, 308 persons recovered and were discharged, 148 from home isolation, 129 from CCCs, 27 from JNIMS and four RIMS. The recovery rate of the state stands at 95.70 %. 

The cumulative number of positive cases in the state now stands at 1, 30,951 out of which 1,25,321 have recovered, leaving 3,599 active cases.

The total number of doses administered on January 24, 2022, is 7,939, the cumulative number of doses administered is 24,45,260 (1st dose 13,93,030, 2nd dose 10,34,944) and precautionary 17,286.

There is total of 300 covid beds in JNIMS, out of which 52 are occupied while 248 are vacant while in RIMS there are 190 Covid beds, out of which 29 are occupied and 163 are vacant.
