The Mizoram State Transport (MST) bus will leave from Aizawl on every Monday and Thursday morning for Bethliangchhip via Mamit in Mizoram, Khedacherra, Damcherra and Kanchanpur of Tripura. The same bus will return on Tuesday and Friday on the same route. The small passenger vehicles have had regular movement between the two states for past many years.

A large number of small traders from North Tripura and Western Mizoram have regular movement in the trade points. While Mizoram traders are selling fancy items, clothes and electronic items from Burma, Myanmar and Korea in North Tripura, traders from here are selling food and cosmetic items in Mizoram villages.

“There has been a long demand for regular inter-state bus service between two states but it was not feasible because of poor road quality. Recently, the roads have been developed and movement of passengers from both sides has increased.

Like small vehicles, bus service is under the active consideration of Mizoram to extend the service between Aizawl to Agartala soon,” said an MST official adding that Mizoram government has undertaken several other steps to further strengthen the relationship with its neighbours.
