Eight held for enrolling Aadhaar cards using Assam IDs & fabricated documents

The accused persons have collected Rs.2,000 to Rs.3,000 from the needy applicants for Aadhaar enrolment or updations.

Hyderabad: The city police on Friday arrested eight persons on charges of enrolling Aadhaar cards by using Assam IDs and fabricated documents.

Police seized six laptops, six Iris, six fingerprint slabs, six cameras, five stamps, Aadhaar Card enrollment forms attested by duplicate Gazetted officer with stamp and signature, forged birth certificates, fake Aadhaar cards and net cash of Rs 80,000 from their possession.

Based on the complaint from Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), West Zone Task Force team and Golconda Police here arrested Nitesh Singh (30) of Borabanda, Syed Mustafa (28) of Tolichowki, Rabbani MA (28) of Kachiguda, Mohd Azhar Shareef (27) of Tolichowki, Mohd Sohil (23) of Borabanda, Shaik Jahangir Pasha (37) of Miyapur, Mohd Anwaruddin (34) of Rajendra Nagar and Mohd Ahmed (20) of Chairminar when they were enrolling for Aadhaar cards by producing Assam IDs and forged documents, a police release said.

The accused persons have collected Rs.2,000 to Rs.3,000 from the needy applicants for Aadhaar enrolment or updations.

The arrested accused persons along with seized property were handed over to SHO, Golconda Police Station for taking necessary action, the release added.
