Imphal: Tengnoupal Battalion foiled cross-border narcotics trafficking at Tengnoupal on December 4 and seized banned items worth about 5 cr. Assam Rifles officials on Monday said during routine checking at Vehicle Check Post, Tengnoupal, troops of Assam Rifles intercepted a vehicle moving from Moreh to Pallel.
On thorough checking of the vehicle, a bag containing one lakh WIY tablets from an individual was recovered. The recovered narcotics were assessed to be worth Rs 5 Crores.
The seized narcotics along with the vehicle and the drug traffickers were handed over to Tengnoupal Police for further investigation.
