Imphal: Chandel Battalion foiled cross border narcotic trafficking near the Indo-Myanmar Border in Chandel district on October 6 and seized drugs worth Rs 21 crores.
Assam Rifles official Thursday said based on credible inputs regarding narcotics trafficking, troops of Assam Rifles launched a search operation wherein 5.2 kg of Heroin was recovered from the jungles near Gamphazol village. The recovered narcotics was assessed to be worth approximately Rs 21 Crore.
The seized narcotics were handed over to Narcotics Control Bureau, Imphal, for further legal action.
