‘Nari Shakti’ plays a key role in Pinjoli bridge upgradation: BRO

The upgradation work, required to enhance the operational movement of the Armed Forces to the Tawang sector, was completed well within the stipulated time-frame of three days laid down by 91 RCC/14 TF of BRO’s Project Vartak.

The upgradation work, required to enhance the operational movement of the Armed Forces to the Tawang sector, was completed well within the stipulated time-frame of three days laid down by 91 RCC/14 TF of BRO’s Project Vartak. Further, a diversion of 1.10 km was also made before commencement of upgradation work in one day and work was planned during night so as to minimize inconvenience to the road users.

The upgradation was planned to be completed within three days (October 4-6) after consultation with Army authorities and civil administration, a press note from Border Roads Organisation said, adding that in order to ensure that the upgradation work is completed within the stipulated time-frame, resources including a group of 35 casual paid labourers (CPLs), including 15 women CPLs under a woman mate, were mobilized at site.

“The power of Nari Shakti was seen at its best during this bridge upgradation exercise where Mate Rita Biswakarma alongwith her 15 women CPLs turned out to be a great motivating force for others during execution of the given task,” it said.

The upgradation was completed on Wednesday evening and traffic was restored from Thursday morning. The Nari Shakti contributed a lot in achieving this difficult task with the blessing of “Devi Durga”. The complete exercise culminated on an auspicious note on the commencement of the first day of Navratri Festival, it added.
