Margao: The Entertainment Society of Goa under the BJP government headed by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant “continues to insult Goa Films” by not including them in the official sections of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat said on Saturday.

“It is most unfortunate that the Entertainment Society of Goa has failed even to announce the selected films for the so-called Goa Premier Section just hours before the inaugural function of the 52nd IFFI. This exposes the lethargic and irresponsible approach of the BJP government towards local film fraternity,” he said.

He alleged that Goa films have been given second-class treatment from the time BJP came to power in 2012.

“Every year only after demanding from the opposition, ESG has performed formality of screening Goa films in a non-official section of the film festival,” he said.
