Ramgarh: The doors of Maa Chinmastika Temple located in Rajrappa of this district has been opened for the common people after a gap of 146 days.

Early morning on Thursday the doors were opened amid chanting of Vedic mantras by the priests who after completing the rituals performed the Aarti after which the people were allowed to offer obeisance.

During the first wave of Coronavirus, the temple was closed for nearly six months while in the second wave it has remained shut for nearly five months. Giridih MP Chandraprakash Chowdhary was among those who performed obeisance to the deity as soon as the doors were opened for darshan.

By following the Covid-19 guidelines people are being allowed to offer obeisance at the temple with even the priests being spotted following the norms. Before entering the temple the devotees were made to sanitise their hands and their thermal screening was also done. The priests too were seen wearing masks and hand gloves.

Situated on the confluence of Damodar and Bhairavi Rivers Maa Chinmastika Temple is among the 51 ‘Shakti-Peeths’ dedicated to Goddess Sati in the country.
