DG BSF Asthana calls on Manipur Chief Minister

After the meeting, N Biren Singh handed over a cheque of Rs 5 lakh under the ‘Major Laishram Jyotin Singh Ex-Gratia Scheme’ to the family of Sub-Inspector (GD) Paotinsat Guite of 59th Battalion BSF, who died due to bullet injuries during a gunfight with terrorists in J&K last year.

Imphal: Director General (DG) of Border Security Force (BSF) Rakesh Asthana called on Chief Minister N Biren Singh at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat Tuesday.

After the meeting, N Biren Singh handed over a cheque of Rs 5 lakh under ‘Major Laishram Jyotin Singh Ex-Gratia Scheme’ to the family of Sub-Inspector (GD) Paotinsat Guite of 59th Battalion BSF, who died due to bullet injuries during an exchange of fire with terrorists at the line of control (LOC) under Rajouri Sector in Jammu and Kashmir on December 1 last year. He hailed from Maphou Kuki in Kangpokpi District. Asthana also handed over Rs. 1 lakh to the family from his side.
