CM Zoramthanga discusses food safety measures with FSSAI officials

The Chief Minister expressed his enthusiasm towards working to improve food safety, ensure a nutritious and healthy diet among the populace, and more stringent checking of foodstuffs produced in the state as well as those imported from outside.

Aizawl: Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga had a meeting with Rita Teaotia, Chairperson, and Arun Singhal, CEO of Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), and their colleagues regarding enhancement of FSSAI’s operation in the state as well as the promotion of food safety and healthy diet.

The Chief Minister expressed his enthusiasm towards working to improve food safety, ensure a nutritious and healthy diet among the populace, and more stringent checking of foodstuffs produced in the state as well as those imported from outside.

The meeting also touched upon discussions regarding Eat Right India initiative under FSSAI and the promotion of the same in Mizoram. The FSSAI team also met with Dr R Lalthangliana, Minister of Health and Family Welfare.
