Thoubal: On Monday, the District Water and Sanitation Committee (DSWC) meeting was convened at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner, chaired by Deputy Commissioner A. Subhash Singh.
The meeting extensively discussed the progress of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), the formation of new Village Water and Sanitation Committees (VWSCs), and the ODF Plus declaration. The committee resolved to increase the Functional Household Tap Connection (FHTC) coverage, which currently stands at 88.23%, to 100% for all rural households, including schools, anganwadis, and health centres, well before the December 2024 deadline.
On the same day, the Zonal Education Office (ZEO) in Thoubal organized an Awareness-cum-Account Opening Camp on National Savings Schemes, Postal Life Insurance, and India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) accounts.
The program, held at the Conference Hall of the ZEO Thoubal, targeted staff, teachers, and students who recently passed out from National and State Merit Scholarships to facilitate the opening of IPPB accounts.
The ZEO organized the program in collaboration with the Offices of the Director of Small Savings, Manipur, and the Director of Postal Services, Manipur Division.
