Imphal: In the last 24 hours leading up to 2 pm of Saturday, one person succumbed to Covid while 37 persons (35 general population, two CAPF) got infected with coronavirus and 44 persons recovered in Manipur, as per an official release from the Health Department.
The lone person who expired due to the deadly virus is from Ukhrul. The deceased person had co-morbidities and had not been vaccinated at all. The cumulative death toll of the state now stands at 2109.
Of the 35 persons from the general population who tested positive, 10 are from Imphal West, nine from Imphal East, three each from Bishnupur, Chandel and Churachandpur, two each from Kakching and Tamenglong and one each from Thoubal, Kangpoki and Ukhrul.
Altogether 1,062 persons were tested amounting to a positivity rate of 3.4 %
Meanwhile, 44 persons recovered and were discharged, 35 of them from home isolation, five from CCCs and two each from JNIMS and RIMS.
For various reasons 168 persons were declared as recovered only on Saturday so the total recovery is 212 after reconciliation with the IDSP team, home isolation team, community home isolation team and hospitalization team as on February 26, 2022.
The recovery rate of the state stands at 98.19 %.
The cumulative number of positive cases in the state now stands at 1, 36, 727 out of which 1, 34, 258 have recovered leaving 360 active cases.
The total number of doses administered on February 25, 2022, is 6,510, the cumulative number of doses administered is 26,98, 407 (1st dose 15,08, 274, 2nd dose 11,31, 526) and precautionary dose 58,607.
