Covid: 90 positive cases Tuesday in Manipur, active cases rise to 576

Imphal: Manipur reported 90 positive cases from the general population in the last 24 hours leading up to 5 pm of Tuesday. 

During the same period, one person from Imphal West succumbed to the virus and 50 persons recovered, as per an official release from the Health Department. 

Of the 90 persons who tested positive, 51 are from Imphal West, 20 from Imphal East, seven from Bishnupur, five from Ukhrul, two from Thoubal and one each from Churachandpur Kakching Noney, Tamenglong and Tengnoupal. Altogether, 911 persons were tested, amounting to a positivity rate of 9.8 %. 

The lone person who succumbed to Covid Tuesday is from Kakching. He was suffering from co-morbidities and had not been vaccinated at all. With this death, the cumulative death toll due to Covid in the stae4 stands at 2122. 

Of the 50 persons who recovered, 42 are from home isolation, five from SHRI and three are from RIMS. The recovery rate of the state as of Friday dips down to 98.05 %.

The cumulative number of positive cases in the state now stands at 1, 38, 425 out of which 1, 35, 425 have recovered leaving 576 active cases in the state.

As on July 18, 2022, 86 D-type oxygen cylinders and 26 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available at different health facilities in Manipur.

The status of Covid Hospital facilities in the state as on July 19 , 2022 are as follows: JNIMS has a total of 38 beds out of which 15 are occupied and 23 are vacant. RIMS has a total of 47 beds out of which 29 are occupied and 18 are vacant. 

 The total number of doses administered on July 18 , is 10,738, the cumulative number of doses administered is 30,22,243 (1st dose 16,04,362, 2nd dose 12,74,192) and precautionary dose is 1,43,669.
