Imphal: Manipur recorded its highest single-day rise of Covid-19 cases on Saturday, as the state logged 757 new infections. The state also reported 13 new fatalities, according to the health department.
With the addition of the new cases, Manipur’s Covid-19 tally has climbed to over 43,322 and the death toll due to the viral disease stands at 674, the bulletin said. One person each at District Hospital Thoubal, District Hospital Churachandpur, Raj Medicity died, while Shija Hospital reported two, JNIMS and RIMS reported four each death.
The recovery rate stood at 83.69 per cent, it added.
The data of the last 24 hours also revealed that the number of active coronavirus cases in the state is inching closer to the fifty-thousand mark. The cumulative number of recovered cases is 36,258 and the number of active cases in the state is 6390.
A total of 6385 vaccine doses were administered to people in the said period, the bulletin said.
A total of 1366 D type Oxygen Cylinders and 504 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different institutions and health facilities of Manipur. District Hospital and Government institutions have 178D, 66B filled cylinders out of these Bishnupur (22D,0B), Chandel (10D, 4B), Churachandpur (41D, 5B), Senapati (20D, 0B), Thoubal (28D, 15B), Ukhrul (6D,0B), Tamenglong (7D,0B), Jiribam (20D, 11B) Moreh (5D, 6B), Mao (4D, 6B), Kakching (OD, 8B), Pherzawl (4D, 5B), Noney (2D, 1B) and Kamjong (3D, 1B).
Meanwhile, air passengers who travelled to the state on 20th May 2021 by Air India AI-889 in rows 14-36 are advised to inform the Common Covid Control Room 1800-345-3818 or respective District Surveillance Officers (DSO) for further surveillance and necessary testing.
