Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh recorded 18 fresh COVID-19 cases during the past 24 hours that took its tally of confirmed cases to 54,942, a senior health official said on Wednesday.
On the other hand, 14 more persons recuperated from the ailment in the period that increased the total number of recovered cases to 54,426. The COVID-19 recovery rate has further improved to 99.06 per cent.
Of the new infections, Itanagar Capital Complex and West Kameng accounted for five cases each.
Three cases came from Namsai, while Lower Dibang Valley and Lower Subansiri contracted two cases each and East Siang one. 15 of the total cases turned out to be asymptomatic and three symptomatic.
The state’s active caseload currently stands at 236 with West Kameng leading the chart with 53 cases, followed by Namsai (23), and East Siang and Lower Subansiri (22 each). Lower Dibang Valley has 20 active COVID cases and Itanagar Capital Complex 18.
280 persons have so far lost lives due to COVID-19 complications.
Till now, Arunachal Pradesh has tested 11,66,108 samples for COVID-19 with 10,97,176 of those having been tested negative for the virus.
Meanwhile, the state-administered over 12.47 lakh COVID-19 vaccine doses to its citizens since the launch of the nationwide vaccination drive in January last.
76 per cent of the beneficiaries have at least taken the first jab of the anti-COVID vaccine, while 47 per cent were fully inoculated, as per the data released by the state Health Services Directorate here.
