Puducherry: An elderly couple who did not get separated even in death was cremated in the same platform here on Tuesday evening.

According to police, Balasubramanian (77) of Murugambakkam tested positive for Coronavirus a few days back and was hospitalized. He died late last evening. With hesitation, his elder son informed Balasubramnian’s wife Jayalakshmi (74) of the death of her husband and she cried for quite some time.

Later, she told her son that it seemed that she would faint and lied down on his lap after drinking some water from him and she also died.

This evening, the body of Balsubramaninan was brought to the crematorium from the hospital and that of Jayalakshmi from their house and both were together cremated in the same platform.
