Congress, AIUDF main enemy of Assam: Sonowal

Guwahati: Terming Congress, AIUDF alliance as the main enemy of Assam, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal Tuesday said that BJP will not allow these poisonous powers to come to power
“Congress and Badruddin Ajmal’s AIUDF is the main enemy of Assam. We will not allow these poisonous powers to run our Govt. Come whatever sacrifices or hardship, we will defeat these enemies of Assam,” his tweet read.
Sonowal further added that both Congress and AIUDF are hatching a conspiracy to destroy the Assamese nationalists, and BJP have to defeat them at any cost.
Notably, BJP in past few days has sharpened its attack on the `Grand Alliance’ by raising issue of illegal migration which was the party’s main poll plank in 2016.
Home Minister Amit Shah had urged the people of Assam to give BJP another five year term to free Assam from infiltration, flood and agitation.
The Congress-led grand alliance comprises All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF), Communist Party of India (CPI), the Communist Party of India (Marxist) or CPI (M), the Communist Party of India (Marxist Leninist) Liberation or CPI(ML), and the Anchalik Gana Marcha (AGM).
The Bodoland Peoples’ Front (BPF) has also broken away from the BJP-led and joined the alliance.
