Imphal:  Asserting the present crisis Manipur has faced today was due to the appeasement policy implemented by previous governments, Chief Minister N Biren Singh Wednesday said that the integrity of Manipur can only be protected when BJP leaders like Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and JP Nadda are the Centre.

Many people want to break Manipur. But it’s Modi and Shah who steadfastly stood up for the people of the state, Biren Singh said while participating in the BJP’s Mahila Sammenlan, held at BJP Sanglen (BJP Bhavan).

The Chief Minister said unlike other political parties BJP is a party that keeps what it promised. If you want to love your motherland, it should be from your heart and in your blood. But if you claim you love your land but at the same time demand NCR, then you’re nothing but a cheater, and are against the will of the state, Biren said.

Biren said if one wants to do politics, he should be a man of integrity and sincerity. You should have a sense of belongingness and love for your nation and community, the Chief Minister added, citing that a mistake committed by a doctor will kill only a patient but when a politician commits a mistake, the whole nation will be brought down.

He further reiterated that his government doesn’t have any problem with the indigenous communities like Old Kukis, Thadou, Paite and Hmar, but will continue to pursue those new illegal immigrants, who want to destroy the state.
