CM Biren congratulates PM Modi on achieving 100-cr dose vaccination

Speaking at the occasion, Chief Minister N. Biren Singh said that it is a matter of pride for the country to achieve the 100-crore mark as it is not easy to inoculate such a huge population free of cost.

Imphal: State Government, in association with different local organisations, Thursday organized a Thanksgiving Programme in honour of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on achieving 100 crore doses of COVID-19 vaccination in the country with Chief Minister N. Biren Singh as the Chief Guest at Phubala village in Bishnupur district. 

Speaking at the occasion, Chief Minister N. Biren Singh said that it is a matter of pride for the country to achieve the 100-crore mark as it is not easy to inoculate such a huge population free of cost.

The milestone could be achieved due to the determination and far-sighted vision of the dynamic Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he added. Even before a single case of COVID-19 was detected in India, the Prime Minister entrusted a team of scientists to invent vaccines for the pandemic soon after the pandemic broke out in China he further stated and added that India could produce two vaccines on time and started vaccination early to save people’s precious lives. These vaccines are saving lives not only in India but also in many other countries, he observed.

Despite criticism from some quarters, Prime Minister’s initiative to clap for frontline warriors, ringing utensils and switching off lights earned great dividends in creating awareness about the virus. It also made the public realize the importance of the collective fight against the pandemic, he pointed out. That’s why Shri Narendra Modi is known as the living legend for his innovative ideas, the Chief Minister said.

Regarding healthcare initiatives taken up by the Government, the Chief Minister said that State Government’s CMHT and Central Government Ayushman Bharat had been giving great benefits to the masses. Now, people are no more worried about healthcare up a large extent, he added. CM’s Health for All had been launched to provide health check-up facilities and primary treatment at people’s doorsteps, he added.

N. Biren Singh also inspected the Health and Wellness Centre, Phubala, COVID-19 vaccination and issuance of CMHT and Ayushman Bharat health cards.

Moirang AC MLA P. Saratchandra, Advisor to CM (Health) Dr. S. Ranjan, Additional Chief Secretary (Health and Family Welfare) V. Vumlunmang, former Chief Secretary O. Nabakishore and ex-MLA M. Prithviraj also attended the function as dignitaries, among others.
