Gangtok: Governor Ganga Prasad has issued an order changing the portfolios of certain Ministers, in Chief Minister PS Tamang’s Cabinet.
Minister BS Panth is the new minister for Information & Public Relations. He also holds portfolios in Commerce& Industries and Tourism & Civil Aviation.
Minister LN Sharma, has been assigned the Labour portfolio. This is in addition to Agriculture, Horticulture and Animal Husbandry.
Minister Mingma Norbu Sherpa’s new portfolio is Transport. He is also holding Energy & Power.
Minister Sanjeet Kharel has Social Welfare, Women& Child as his new portfolios. He already has Buildings & Housing.
LB Das newly inducted as the minister has Urban Development & Housing and Food & Civil Supplies portfolios.
Bhim H.Limboo has been allotted Skill Development (previously taken care of by CM) Minister Limboo continues to hold Public Works Deptt.
However, Minister Kunga Nima Lepcha and Sonam Lama face no changes in the 11-member Council of Ministers headed by Chief Minister PS Tamang.
The change has taken place mainly due to the appointment of new Speaker Arun Upreti, as such in place of L B Das.
