“Catch the Rain” campaign kicks off at Senapati

Deputy Commissioner, Senapati Th Kirankumar, said that sensitization on water conservation will begin at the grassroots level through people’s participation. He, therefore, appealed to the members to take active participation in rainwater harvesting.

Senapati: The District Administration Monday joined the campaign of Jal Shakti Abhiyan: “Catch the Rain” with the rest of the country which was launched by the Prime Minister of India at the Conference Hall, DC Office.

Deputy Commissioner, Senapati Th Kirankumar, said that sensitization on water conservation will begin at the grassroots level through people’s participation. He, therefore, appealed to the members to take active participation in rainwater harvesting.

Additional District Magistrate, Senapati, A Adahrii Maheo, in his welcome address stated that the campaign will be taken all across the country both in rural and urban areas with the theme “Catch the rain, where it falls when it falls” till the post-monsoon season.

Executive Engineer, PHED, Senapati, S Lohrii Mao, in his speech appealed to all the members present to educate the local villagers on the conservation of water through plantation of trees.

Besides, the campaign was carried out in all sub-divisional blocks and various anganwadi centres in a befitting manner.

Later, a pledge was taken by the members present which was led by Th Kirankumar. The programme was attended by DLO’s, several village authorities and leaders.
