Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Dr Narottam Mishra said on Tuesday that the Cabinet has approved the proposal to give electricity subsidy to the farmers and domestic consumers of the state.
Interacting with the media after the cabinet meeting, the Home Minister said that in order to provide cheap electricity to the farmers and domestic consumers in the state, the cabinet has approved the proposal of giving a subsidy of more than Rs 20,700 crores.
He said that with this decision of the state government, a subsidy of about Rs 15,722 crore would be given to farmers and of Rs 5,000 crore to domestic consumers.
He also said that the cabinet has on Tuesday approved the ‘Ration Aapke Dwar’ scheme which was announced on September 18. This scheme will be implemented in 7,511 villages of 80 tribal development blocks of the state. At present, it will not be implemented in areas with a code of conduct.
