Puri:The body of a girl found by the marine police on the beach about five kms away from the town has been identified by the family of the deceased.
On November 23 , one Prahllad Kushwah, a tourist from Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh residing in a hotel near Chakratirth had filed a complaint with the Sea beach police station that his daughter Radhika had been missing.
She left the hotel alone in the evening and did not return. Police registered a missing case and were investigating it.
Police sent the body to district headquarters hospital for post-mortem and preserved it in the morgue. The family was informed and asked to come to Puri for identification. The family arrived on Monday and identified the body as of their daughter.
Police said the post-mortem report reflects ante-mortem drowning. The body was handed over to the family. The CCTV footage showed the girl was moving on the beach alone, police said.
