Assam suspends classes up to 8 with districts over 100 COVID-19 cases

Guwahati: Assam government has suspended classes for students up to class 8 in all the districts with over 100 cases of COVID-19 in a single day.

“DCs of districts, where active COVID-19 cases cross 100 on a particular day, have been authorized to suspend physical classroom assembly of students of Class VI to VIII in pvt & public schools. Online classes to be made available,” Sarma posted on Twitter.
Chirang, Biswanath, Majuli, Baksa, West Karbi Anglong, Dima Hasoa, Charaideo, Hailakandi, and West Karbi Anglong districts of Assam are exempted from the order as of April 26, Monday.
Meanwhile, normal classes for class 9 onwards continue in schools and colleges with 50% capacity. All COVID-19 protocols are also mandated to be maintained.
