Imphal: Assam Rifles organised a community outreach event comprising a Voluntary Blood Donation Camp and a Career Awareness Session at the Homeland Academy of Tactical Security and Fire Safety in Imphal West District, Manipur on 06 July 2026. The initiative was designed to strengthen regional blood reserves for emergency medical requirements, promote voluntary donation and provide career guidance to local youth.
The blood donation drive resulted in the collection of 35 units of blood to meet urgent medical needs. A total of 23 Assam Rifles personnel volunteered to donate blood during the camp. To ensure safe execution according to prescribed medical protocols, the drive was supervised by two doctors and seven medical staff from the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Imphal West District, one Medical Officer and one Nursing Assistant from Assam Rifles, and eight representatives from the Indian Red Cross Society.
Alongside the donation camp, Assam Rifles conducted an informative awareness session on the “Join Indian Army” initiative. The session provided local youth with detailed information regarding various entry schemes, eligibility criteria and career opportunities in the Armed Forces, encouraging them to contribute towards nation-building. The event concluded with an interactive session that enabled open dialogue and strengthened relations between the security forces and the local community.
