Chandel: In a concerted effort to foster creativity and holistic development among the youth, Assam Rifles organised a vibrant Inter School Literary and Cultural Meet at Sehlon village in the Chandel district on 29 and 30 May 2026. The two-day festival provided a dynamic platform for approximately 160 participants, including 150 students and 10 teachers from nine villages, to engage in meaningful cultural exchange and academic competition.
Young learners from Sehlon, Phoilen, Wayang, Phaihengkot, and Tuitong villages showcased their talents through a series of storytelling sessions, traditional dance performances, and intellectual quiz competitions. These activities were carefully curated to enhance communication skills, build stage confidence, and nurture a lifelong passion for learning among the attendees. During the event, representatives from the force engaged with the students, underscoring the significance of cultural heritage, educational excellence, and the vital role of youth in nation-building. The programme concluded with a prize distribution ceremony to honour the winners and celebrate budding talent. Parents and educators expressed their gratitude for the initiative, noting that such events strengthen the bonds of friendship and mutual understanding across the region.
