Imphal: With a steadfast commitment to guiding the local populace in general and the younger generation in particular, towards peace, progress and harmony, Assam Rifles organised a series of community outreach initiatives in Manipur on 21 and 22 May 2026. These activities aimed to inspire the youth to embrace education, make informed career choices and all participants to adopt a healthy lifestyle.
On 21 May, Assam Rifles personnel conducted an outreach programme in Thanlon, Pherzawl district, an isolated village located 130 km from Churachandpur. The event witnessed participation from 200 locals including students and youth. A senior official engaged with village elders to discuss regional development and education. A motivational session was held to encourage hard work and responsible conduct among students. Furthermore, an exhibition football match for boys and girls was organised to promote sportsmanship and unity. The local population expressed appreciation as well as profound sense of comfort and security owing to these engagements.
Continuing this endeavour on 22 May, an interactive event was held for 200 students of Hill Academy in Phaibem Village, Churachandpur. The programme featured an equipment display to spark curiosity about the security forces. This was followed by a screening of the inspirational movie “IKKIS” to instill patriotism, discipline and dedication. Safe transport was also arranged for the participating students, further strengthening community trust.
Simultaneously, at Assam Rifles Public School in New Keithelmanbi, a vibrant yoga session was organised for 75 students as a prelude to the 12th International Day of Yoga. Trained instructors guided the enthusiastic students through various postures, breathing exercises and meditation techniques. This initiative highlighted the importance of physical fitness, mental wellness and stress reduction.
Through these continuous and meaningful engagements, Assam Rifles has successfully motivated young minds while reinforcing mutual trust and goodwill with the local populace.
