Pherzawl: For the residents of Parbung in Tipaimukh Block and several villages including Tuisen, Ankhasuo (Sibapurikhal), Lower Kharkhuplien, Kangreng and Ngampabung under Vangai Range, government services came closer than ever before as the District Administration rolled out a comprehensive IEC campaign in the remote villages today.
Organised under the theme “Jan Bhagidaari Sabse Door, Sabse Pehle,” the outreach programme was led by Deputy Commissioner Smt. Mannuamching and supervised by Additional Deputy Commissioner Zosanglur Joute along with SDOs Lalthanzam Infimate and other officials.
The campaign turned the village into a one-stop hub of services where residents queued up to availed Aadhaar enrolment and updation services, health check-ups, welfare scheme registrations, while others used the opportunity to voice grievances directly to officials as part of Jan Sunwai (public hearing).
Medical teams conducted health screenings while facilitating enrolment under flagship health schemes such as Chief Ministergi Hakshelgi Tengbang (CMHT) and Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY). School children were among the key beneficiaries, particularly through Aadhaar enrolment essential for accessing educational benefits.
Adding an environmental touch to the outreach initiative, officials and villagers participated in a tree plantation drive.
Residents, especially the elderly and students, expressed appreciation for the initiative, noting that such outreach programmes save time, cost, and effort otherwise spent travelling long distances for basic services.
The campaign highlights the administration’s continued efforts to bridge the gap between governance and remote communities. A similar awareness drive was also conducted earlier this week at Henchungpunjee under Vangai Block, further expanding the reach of the initiative.
