Kangpokpi: Assam Rifles conducted a comprehensive community outreach programme at Bungte Chiru village in Kangpokpi district on 03 July 2026. The vital initiative was organised to engage with the local populace, address their concerns and reassure them of the unwavering commitment of security forces towards maintaining peace and normalcy in the region.
The interactive programme provided an open, constructive platform enabling a total of 18 villagers to share their perspectives, concerns and suggestions related to the security environment and community welfare. During the detailed discussions, participants highlighted the impact of recent incidents on their daily lives, movement and livelihood activities. Security personnel apprised the gathering of various confidence-building and security measures being undertaken, including regular area domination patrols, enhanced security arrangements, medical outreach activities and welfare initiatives aimed at ensuring a safe, conducive environment for the population. The shared discussions explicitly emphasised the importance of maintaining close cooperation between security forces and local communities to preserve peace and prevent the spread of rumours and misinformation. Concluding on a positive note with deeply renewed trust and confidence, the villagers appreciated the proactive efforts of Assam Rifles, expressing gratitude for the continued support and assuring their full cooperation in maintaining long-term harmony, development and socio-economic progress
