Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma today reviewed the prevailing COVID19 situation in the river island district of Majuli and directed the strict implementation of restrictions for containing the pandemic.
Sarma took stock of the availability of ICU beds in the district along with oxygen, medicines, health infrastructure etc in view of the rising number of cases.
He directed for generating mass awareness about the importance of following COVID19 protocols for containing the spread of the pandemic and instructed DC Majuli to ramp up testing and make testing mandatory at all entry points to the district.
