Guwahati: Assam has given COVID 19 vaccines to more than 2.5 crore people, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said.
The state administered more than 1.9 crore first-time doses and 60 lakh second doses.
“Proud to share that our state has crossed a total of 2.5 crore vaccine shots as of yesterday,” Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted,.
We have administered more than 1.9 crore first time doses and 60+ lakh second doses. I hope our health workers continue to provide such selfless service in our fight against #COVID19.”
Mr Sarma said that the COVID 19 restrictions in the state will be completely lifted from November 1. The state government has already decided to reopen schools from October 19, 2021.
Assam reported seven more Covid-19 fatalities pushing the death toll to 5,897, while 385 fresh cases took the tally to 6,03,623 on Tuesday.
The number of active cases in the state currently is 3,071.
