Arunachal’s Covid tally rises to 66,614

The State’s Covid recovery rate stood at 99.43 percent as against the case positivity rate of 0.13 percent.

Itanagar: The Covid19 case tally of Arunachal Pradesh shot up to 66,614 after 15 more persons tested positive for the infection during the past 24 hours, a senior health official said on Friday.

On the other hand, 27 patients recuperated from the contagion in the period taking the total number of recoveries to 66,234.

Following this, the Northeastern state’s active Covid19 caseload further dipped to 84, State Surveillance Officer-IDSP Dr Lobsang Jampa said.

Of the fresh cases, three were detected in Lower Subansiri and two each in Changlang, East Siang, Lower Dibang Valley, Namsai, and Tawang, while one apiece came from Itanagar Capital Complex and Dibang Valley. The majority of the cases (12) were found to be symptomatic and three asymptomatic, he said.

The day’s positivity rate was 9.74 percent against the previous day’s 8.64 percent. The State’s Covid recovery rate stood at 99.43 percent as against the case positivity rate of 0.13 percent. With a total of 296 casualties recorded to date, the fatality rate stayed put at 0.44 percent, Dr Jampa said.

On the inoculation front, Arunachal Pradesh has thus far administered over 18.48 lakh vaccine doses to its eligible citizens under the nationwide vaccination drive. 10.42 lakh beneficiaries have taken the first dose and 8.06 lakh received the second dose.

Besides, Arunachal has administered 86,862 precaution doses to its citizens to date, State Immunization Officer Dr Dimong Padung said.
