Arunachal’s Covid tally crosses 62,000 mark

Sixty-six of the new cases were detected in Itanagar Capital Complex, while Lohit reported 13, Papum Pare 10, Tawang nine, Lower Subansiri six, West Kameng five and four each were reported from Leparada and Tirap.

Itanagar: Arunanchal Pradesh records 129 new Covid-19 casses, thus taking the state’s cumulative infection tally past the 62k mark to 62,082, officials informed on Monday.

The state also reported 324 recoveries taking the count to 58,848. Therefore,now the state’s active caseload has slumped to 2,948. The state’s Covid toll remained at 286 as no fresh Covid deaths were reported.

Sixty-six of the new cases were detected in Itanagar Capital Complex, while Lohit reported 13, Papum Pare 10, Tawang nine, Lower Subansiri six, West Kameng five and four each were reported from Leparada and Tirap.

Of the total cases, 60 were found to be asymptomatic and 69 symptomatic, the official said, adding that the day’s positivity rate was 23.45 percent, which figured at 25.54 percent on Sunday.

On the inoculation front, Arunachal vaccinated only 110 people on Sunday. So far the state has administered a little above 15.75 lakh vaccine doses to its eligible citizens, the official said.
