Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Assembly Speaker Pasang Dorjee Sona on Wednesday sought cooperation from everyone for all-round development of the Shi-Yomi district, which is the home constituency.
“It’s everyone’s responsibility to help in developmental activities,” Sona said while attending a public meeting at Lungte under the district.
Informing that around 90 per cent of villages in the district are now getting potable water, the Speaker said that next on his priority list is to provide electricity supply in every village for which 70 per cent works are in progress.
He, however, suggested that no individual-oriented scheme/proposal should be taken up rather only public utility schemes are prioritised.
Sona also called upon the labourers to get themselves registered with Arunachal Pradesh Building & Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board (APB&OCWWB) to avail several benefits.
Earlier, the Speaker inspected the Government Residential School, Lungte. He was accompanied by PRI leaders and officials from the education department.
Interacting with the school authorities and the public, Sona expressed serious concern over the current condition of the school.
Stressing that quality of work shouldn’t be compromised at any cost, the Speaker urged upon the PRI leaders and public to strictly monitor for quality of work when a new structure comes up.
He further instructed the officials to send their requirements to the concerned authorities.
It may be mentioned here that the newly created Shi-Yomi district shares a border with China.
