Arunachal reports 47 new COVID-19 cases, one more death

A 44-year-old female comorbid patient from Lower Dibang Valley district, who was under home isolation, died within two days after testing positive for the virus, said State Surveillance Officer (IDSP) Dr Lobsang Jampa.

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh reported 47 new COVID-19 cases and one more related casualty, taking the number of infections to 53,710 and the state’s death toll to 270, the Health Services Directorate said here on Sunday.

A 44-year-old female comorbid patient from Lower Dibang Valley district, who was under home isolation, died within two days after testing positive for the virus, said State Surveillance Officer (IDSP) Dr Lobsang Jampa.

Meanwhile, the hilly state continues to see more recoveries than the number of new cases as it recorded 47 new cases and 68 recoveries on Saturday.

Lower Subansiri detected the highest 11 new cases, followed by Itanagar Capital Complex seven and Namsai six. Twenty-seven of the total cases were found to be asymptomatic and 20 symptomatic, the bulletin said.

On the other hand, with 68 recoveries in the period, the state’s active caseload has been reduced to 561, while the number of recoveries swelled to 52,879.

The COVID recovery rate now stands at 98.45 per cent, while the positivity rate is 1.04 per cent and the death rate 0.50 per cent, as per the bulletin.
