Arunachal reports 286 new Covid cases; death toll mounts to 172

Itanagar: As many as 286 people tested positive for Covid-19 in Arunachal Pradesh in the last 24 hours, taking the state’s caseload to 35,857, while the death toll rose to 172 as four more succumbed to the virus.

As per the bulletin issued by the state Directorate of Health Services, out of the new positive cases, Itanagar Capital Complex reported the highest at 71, followed by Upper Subansiri 29 , Lohit and Lower Dibang Valley 20 each.

Barring 136, all the patients are symptomatic.

According to the bulletin, of the four fatalities reported, two were from Namsai , one each from Itanagar Capital Complex and Upper Siang.

On a positive note, 207 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours, taking the total recoveries to 32,923.

Active cases tally stands at 2,762.
