Army recovers arms cache in Manipur’s Kangpokpi district

Imphal: Acting on specific intelligence regarding the presence of a huge cache of arms, ammunition and war-like stores in the general area of Sadar Joute and T. Mongbung villages, in Kangpokpi District.

 Indian Army launched a joint search operation along with Manipur Police wherein one 9mm carbine, one country-made Mortar, one 9mm pistol, one country-made GI pipe Pompi gun, one grenade, ammunition, explosives and other war-like stores were recovered. 

The recovered items have been handed over to the Police, according to a press note from the PRO, (Defence), Manipur, Nagaland and Southern Arunachal Pradesh
